"231" Chemist Outlets Shut Down By PCN
The Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN)
has shut 231 medication apportioning offices in Nasarawa State over illicit
practices.
They gathered it that the Director of Enforcement of the Council, Mr Stephen Esumobi , unveiled this at a news conference in Lafia on
Friday.
He said that the activity pursued seven days observing activity
over the state by the authorization group.
As shown by him, the fixed premises contained 18 drug stores and 213
unlawful patent medication shops.
He recorded a portion of the offences
submitted by the administrators of the outlets to include poor clean
conditions, no accessibility of drug specialists,
poor documentation and non-show of premises and drug specialists yearly
licenses.
He added that “adherence to
approved scope of practice by stakeholders was non-existent as people
without the requisite
knowledge or skills to handle medicines in their facilities abound.
